Just Some Happenings

I have a 5 year old! He is growing too fast! Paul had a great birthday. He went with a few friends up in the mountains sledding, them came down to about 65 degree weather to eat pancakes and cake. In his own words,
"It was super computer cool!"
He has his own slang, maybe one day I will post a Paul dictionary.

Getting to church on Sunday with out curse words wanting to spill from my lips is rare. But the other Sunday I had somehow managed to get both boys ready, myself, prepare a lunch for an after church lunch, and get to church with a smile on my face. I was feeling like super mom. Then as late afternoon approached, and the sweater on my teeth grew I realized I did not get to brush my teeth! Oh well, I think I was still pretty super.

Our family is going back to our home town, Chicago and area. We will be coming in mid-April! Very excited to see family! Also hope to have a day to catch the art museum.

The other day I first had the sane notion that in mid-June I was going to run a 5k. No big deal I can run 2 miles pretty well, adding a mile wouldn't be too hard in 3 months. Then I got on the run's website and had the insane notion to run a 1/2 marathon
...yes 12 miles!
So, I have set the goal if by mid-April before we leave for Chicago if I can run 6+ miles I will do the 1/2 marathon...if not I will stick with the 5k and find a 1/2 marathon farther out. Don't worry you will hear me ramble more about it as I train on. Like today my butt is so sore, I dread squatting to go to the restroom.

Lastly, If you haven't checked it out already I have joined my cousin on a blog called From Potatoes to Horses. Monday - Friday we post a picture of the day.

I have crawled my way to the end of a half marathon, yes. I ran out of juice to prepare properly, so it was not a pretty sight. But I finished! So it was worth it. And, I hate to point this out, but a half marathon is actually 13.1 miles. But once you get to 12 miles, what'a another 1.1 miles? :) :)

Hey if all you missed was brushing your teeth, and you made it to church with a smile instead of angry black clouds inside your head, then YES! You are a super mom in my book. I can so totally relate (in a historical sense, of course...)!
