A Southern Woman

"The only thing that separates us from the animals, is our ability to accessorize."
Olympia Dukakis -Steel Magnolias
There is something about a southern woman that is completely different then a Midwestern woman. First is style. A southern woman is always well put together. She might be just running to the corner store, but she is decked out. She wouldn't think of leaving without her face put on. Her colors are bold and very feminine. And secondly she has an attitude to match. She is in control, but yet still has her feminine southern charm. Scarlet O'hara in gone with the wind and the women in Steel Magnolias have the southern woman so right.

Wow, so true. I remember all of those southern women transplants in Lib. They were SO put together ALL of the time. I always felt a little messy around them. AND they had such a handle on the WHOLE family and wanted control of you too. Scarey.
Yet, I have to admit they taught me a thing or two.
