Tj is Baptized and more Christmas

20101205113246

Tj was baptized! It was a very joyous advent, many children were baptized! A time where we committed to raising our child, and helping raise the other children in the faith. Also a recommit of our own baptismal vows. If you have never heard the book of common prayers baptism service, it is a beautiful service, one that has the resemblance of a wedding service.

More Christmas

New Tradition...will it be one that sticks, only time will tell...

This year we decided to incorporate Santa Claus or Saint Nicholas into Christmas. Saint Nicholas's day in the church calender is 12/6. So we told the story of who he is and the good he did following Jesus. Then it is a Norwegian tradition to put your shoes outside your door and he will bring treats.

And the change of a tradition...

Every year, well the last 2, I have made the boys pj pants. I make these pj pants without a pattern, which sounds harder then it is. Every year they have a little love quirk is what I will call it...or mistake as others would call it. Last year, I sewed Tj's upside down...I joined the pant legs together to make the waist and the waist made the pant legs. It made this weird U shaped crotch.

pj pants

Totally wearable still as you can see! A love quirk! But this year I have decided to still make them something different. I am going to make them these scarves.

But I don't know I am already missing the pj pants!
