Graditude For 2010

Recently, yes I just said recently, I learned an important lesson in being grateful. Grateful to the Lord, and not to have a discontented heart. For a while there I got in the habit of complaining, complaining about everything. Because of this I could not see all the blessings around me and honestly I lost trust in God and became expectant. I probably had a heart similar to the Israelites after leaving Egypt.

As I reflect on 2010, I just want to share some things I am thankful for;

  1. I thank God for his provision for our family. That he is providing for us, has, and will. Thank you for the abundant and spoiled life I live. I thank you for growing my trust in your provision.
  2. Thank you God for your call on our family to home school and the great adventure that has been! Captivate our children's heart!
  3. Thank you for Your love, Lord. That I was able to accept more of it in my life. That your Holy Spirit gently works in me and repairs false beliefs.
  4. Lord, I thank you for our great neighbors. That you are using me even in our brokeness.
  5. I am thankful for the call on my life to serve you here in Idaho. Thank you for bringing us to this beautiful state. Thank you for all the people we have the pleasure to serve.
  6. Thank you for my husband. Growing our love, forming us even more as one! For his humor and love for sports.
  7. Thank you for the blessing of becoming an Aunt again! Growing my brother's family and seeing him as a father and husband!
  8. I thank you God for the vacation our family was able to enjoy this summer. How you planned perfectly when my husbands cell phone would brake. For giving us a time of rebuilding and great memmories.
  9. Lord I thank you for my boys. For their sweet hearts and adventurous imagination.
  10. Thankful that you gave us a beautiful home we have been able to love many in!
  11. Thank you Lord that this list can keep going and going and going...

 My heart started to change when I read in a book about a spiritual exercise of giving thanks. I started writing lists at first. Then I started thanking when I was driving. Then when I was feeling nervous about the future. It just seems to be creeping into everything I do.  I notice I am not as nervous, I can see Gods blessings everywhere and feel content!

Goodbye 2010!
Can't wait to see what 2011 brings!
