Great Storyteller

So Paul loves to tell people stories. He'll tell anyone who will listen, the doctor, the checkout lady, the mailman, you get the point. He always starts his stories the same, "Guess what I saw today?" From that moment he has your attention. Usually he saw a gorilla or a tiger, sometimes a whale, but they always were in our backyard. Sometimes he is feeding them other times they are splashing his window or growling. The person hearing the story generally gives me a questioning look or they ask if he has been to the zoo lately,I just shake my head and let Paul continue telling his story. Maybe he will grow up to be a great novelist.

He looks like he's mid-tale in the picture!

I love this stage of child development. It's SO much fun. I have pages and pages of stories David and John dictated to me at this age--something you might enjoy having, too. I kept them going with questions..."uh huh...really? and then what?" or asking details, like, "what did it look/sound like? where did it come from? where did it go?" Totally worth the time I took to do it. They are such a hoot to read now!
