A Week of Blessings

Last week Destin celebrated a week of blessings. The tradition began 51 years ago when Destin was still a sleepy fishing village, and the main industry was fishing, the pastors of one church would march down a dirt/sand road to the docks to bless the boats. Destin Still boasts of the largest charter fishing fleet in the US, but tourism has taken over as the main industry. Eleven churches gathered together and blessed the lined up boats for a safe and prosperous season. They also gathered together to bless the different businesses and families on other days. It is amazing how the churches here really work together!

Of course after the blessing of the fleet was a good'ole fish fry!
