A Very Paul Story

So about a week ago we went to a friend's house for soup. After soup we were sitting in their living room just chatting, Paul was happily driving his car around their large coffee table. What I failed to notice is that Paul was stopping at the miniature poodle and poking it in the face. Needless to say after a few rounds the poodle had enough and nipped at Paul's arm. OH Boy, This sent Paul into an uproar! Now, you are probably thinking this is a normal toddler story, but Paul's reaction was very Paul. He was not crying or afraid of the poodle. He was mad, and oh was he letting this dog know it. So we are trying to calm Paul down, but he is getting even angrier because we are not punishing the dog. Paul is yelling up a storm and letting everyone have it. This Poodle has done him wrong and no one cares!!! In the midst of this the hostess says, "He is a passionate one!" Paul turns around and looks at her and states, "AM NOT!" And that was that.

Paul did return to happily driving his car around their coffee table, but now every time he passed the poodle he would give it a piece of his mind. In the end he and the poodle did make up. Paul gave him a cautious pat and goodbye when we left.

I did want to kill the dog, but Paul was not hurt in anyway except for his ego.

What a great way to get him to change course--give him a different argument to prove! You show a great sense of humor, there, mom. Hope it helped you feel secure in the midst of the outburst!!
